When Waterllama is a good fit
Choose Waterllama if filling an animal and unlocking characters makes you return to your tracker. Its Apple Watch support is a concrete advantage over WaterChamp when you want to use your watch away from the phone.
Its broad beverage catalog is promoted as premium. Counting daily caffeine and calories does not establish that it forecasts caffeine remaining at bedtime. Android users need another option.
Alternatives worth considering
- WaterChamp: for combined water, caffeine and alcohol records on iPhone or Android, with no Watch app.
- WaterMinder: For configurable cups and a standalone Apple Watch workflow.
- Plant Nanny: For a plant-growing habit on iPhone or Android.

Free and paid access
Free download with in-app purchases. The published premium offering includes 150+ beverages; do not compare that paid catalog with the number of free drinks in another app.
What user reviews add
Sample: 8 US App Store reviews, most recent returned by feed, inspected 8 September 2026. These examples are paraphrases, not a representative rating or a current defect test.
- One reviewer describes the reminders and playful presentation as helpful for remembering water. coleismycat, 2026-09-06.
- Another likes the app but asks for more drink types to be free. Theguywholovesducks, 2026-09-05.
These comments make motivation and free drink access useful things to compare. They do not show that one app produces better health outcomes.
What to try before switching
Before buying, log water and coffee, edit a serving, and check which parts of that routine require premium.
When WaterChamp is another option
Consider WaterChamp if you want water, caffeine and alcohol in one log, with an estimated caffeine curve and a last-coffee reminder. It is available on iPhone and Android and includes 102 selectable drinks. You can try the model in the caffeine calculator.
WaterChamp has no Apple Watch app or LUCY cap integration. Its widgets open the phone’s drink logger for confirmation. Some forecasts and analysis require Pro. Its estimates are not measurements of hydration, blood alcohol or sleep quality.
