When HiCoffee is a good fit
Choose HiCoffee when caffeine is the main task: looking up branded coffee, estimating a homemade brew, and checking a projected caffeine curve. Its Apple Watch app and Apple-device sync are useful advantages for that focused workflow.
HiCoffee is a caffeine specialist. Its developer offers a separate water app, so it is not a direct replacement for a combined water and alcohol log. WaterChamp combines those records but has no Watch app.
Alternatives worth considering
- WaterChamp: for combined water, caffeine and alcohol records on iPhone or Android, with no Watch app.
- WaterMinder: For water goals, custom cups and a Watch app rather than a caffeine specialist.
- Waterllama: For a hydration habit and beverage totals centered on characters and challenges.

What user reviews add
Sample: 4 US App Store reviews, four featured reviews visible on listing; feed empty, inspected 8 September 2026. These examples are paraphrases, not a representative rating or a current defect test.
- A reviewer finds custom caffeine entries and the resulting graph useful for planning around bedtime. Buccsfan94, 2023-10-12.
- Another likes the interface and widgets but asks for easier next-drink planning instead of adding and undoing a drink to see its effect. Runugun, 2025-03-16.
The visible reviews are selected by the store and include older versions. A 2021 reminder complaint has a developer reply saying reminders were added; we do not repeat it as a current missing feature.
What to try before switching
Look up your regular order, enter a custom amount, and compare an afternoon drink against bedtime. Do not treat a remaining daily caffeine budget as proof that another drink will leave sleep unaffected.
When WaterChamp is another option
Consider WaterChamp if you want water, caffeine and alcohol in one log, with an estimated caffeine curve and a last-coffee reminder. It is available on iPhone and Android and includes 102 selectable drinks. You can try the model in the caffeine calculator.
WaterChamp has no Apple Watch app or LUCY cap integration. Its widgets open the phone’s drink logger for confirmation. Some forecasts and analysis require Pro. Its estimates are not measurements of hydration, blood alcohol or sleep quality.
